Sexual assault can take many different forms, victimizing someone of any race, age, gender, sexuality, religion, education level or economic status.

What is sexual assault?

The term sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim.

Some forms of sexual assault include:

Attempted rape

Fondling or unwanted sexual touching

Forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, such as oral sex or penetrating the perpetrator’s body

Penetration of the victim’s body, also known as rape

Domestic Violence Protective Order

Domestic Violence Protective Order (DVPO): Also known as a “50B,” a DVPO is a court order that tells your abuser to stay away from you for a certain period of time. DVPOs also help keep you safe in other ways, including preventing your abuser from owning firearms.

A Civil No-Contact Order

A Civil No-Contact Order: Also known as a “50C,” this restraining order is designed specifically for victims of sexual assault or stalking who do NOT have a “personal relationship” with the offender.
